|PRE KINDERGARTEN: This program is intended to prepare children 4 - 5 years old for Kindergarten the following school year. Children enrolled in this group must be 4 years old by September 15th of the year they are to attend school. The total number of children in the group varies from year to year, however, it is broken down to a maximum of 1 teacher to 8 children ratio. Teachers of this group communicate with the Kindergarten teachers of local schools to appropriately plan and teach readiness skills and to be aware of the independence and social/emotional needs that will be required for a smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten.
3's: This program is for children who are 3 years old by September 15th of the year they are to attend school. The total number of 3's will determine whether there will be one or two groups of 3's. A solid 3's ratio can be a 1:8 teacher:child ratio. When there is a high enrollment of threes the younger 3's breaks down to a maximum of 1:7 ratio and an older 3's breaks down to a 1:8 ratio.
||There is a strong communication network between the teachers of the groups to ensure developmentally appropriate activities and planning to ensure smooth transitions from year to year. This age group begins to foster more independent personal skills along with emerging early literacy, math and science concepts.
2's: This program is for our youngest age group of children who will be 2 years old by September 15th of the year they are to attend school. The total number of 2's and 3's will determine whether there will be one or two groups of 2's. The teacher:child ratio for a group of 2's is 1:5, whether it is an older, younger or mixed group of 2's. This group is intended to introduce the 2 year old to the concept of group learning. It is usually the first school experience and is a gentle, nurturing playful environment meant to encourage social awareness and cognitive development.
